We arrived today! Aloha! Our first stop: Costco for rum and POG - and some taro chips, a pineapple, and bottled water; then to our hotel, the Maui Prince, in Makena.

From our room at the Maui Prince we watched the evening Lu'ua on the grounds below... check our video of the fire dancers.

Needing a little dessert, we started our Manju Quest with coconut and adzuki bean manjus (or is it manji for two?) from Homemaid Bakery - purchased from the Foodland Grocery next door to Pita Paradise.

Our late lunch/early dinner location was an easy decision: Pita Paradise in Kihei.

Lu'au

The Muai Prince lu'au grounds outside our hotel window. We requested this view with the lu'au below and ocean to the right.

Recession?

When we visited in 2005 we watched Lu'aus almost every night. There were about 700 people seated per night. Now there is only one Lu'au per week and for only about 200 people.
