Nevada Travel Log — valley of Fire

The Adventures of Ron and Val in Las Vegas, Area 51, and Southern Nevada.

MVC-854F.JPG (61898 bytes) This is Valley of Fire State Park.  It derives its name from the red sandstone formation created from shifting sand dunes during the age of the dinosaurs, 150 million years ago.  We arrived here late in the afternoon, which was great for taking pictures, but didn't leave us enough time to do some hiking.  Next time.
